*PHEW* I'm glad it's NOT a tribute to that (built)-button-mashing game, plus the game is static, and the base to base firing bug is not so well fixed.
Your animation on the other hand gives a very positive view on humanity almost bracing war out. But you scratched problems in debate with technological advancement when the self-confident cellphone-guy is surprised by the meteor that triggers another age of humility. So far it has been humanistic, but you aim at the end on trans-humanism leading to the twist.
I guess people like it for it's positive view on mankind in a time of humility and ecology and nature versus technology and progress.
I guess it fits at the brink of a new decade.
