Nothing shoves authority down your throat...

...like a funny hat.

I love designing characters.

I posted a WIP of the guy on the left several months ago, but now he's got a cape and a cigar. Classy.

Also, before anyone says anything about the other guy's utility belt, it's not a fanny pack. Ha.

For this era, the dominant civilization is kind of a totalitarian police state mixed with feudalism. The gist of a non-elite life is essentially "devote your life to the betterment of the City in exchange for a place to live and nothing more."

Needless to say, this is a pretty crapsack era of the future.

Really liking the designs so far; I especially like the added cape, it really completes his design. Small nitpicks: the helmet might be a little too roman-esque and I sincerely hope we don't see too much of the robot legs. Other than that, everything is looking pretty cool.

Well, Romanesque was exactly what I was going for. I wanted him to be equal parts Centurion and Gestapo while at the same time making sure neither of them look too futuristic.

As for the leg prosthetics, those are just placeholders until I gain the resolve to give them each different looks. Gilded edges and a less utilitarian look on the Dictator's, maybe.

I'm glad you like the cape!

The US Army is just about ready to start using a battery powered "mobility assist" thing. Kinda like the power armor in Fallout, it helps soldiers carry bigger loads by assisting their legs.
I'm sure landmines are not going away anytime soon, so the armored boots make total sense.
It looks awesome. Click save and continue on, solider!

These people are by no means an extension of the global civilization of today. Imagine if our civilization went out slowly with a wimper, thousands of years of savage anarchy ensued, and then a new, crapsack civilization emerged some 15 millenia after ours.

That's really impressive designing right there, man. But, do you an idea of what they're going to sound like? German Nazis? Russian Bolshiks? Or, since they're part robot, autotuned or robotic voices? I'm a bit eager in finding out, but take your time if you're not there yet. Oh, and the utility belt resembling a fanny pack could prove to be a decent running joke.

Guttural Australian noises, I think... though I haven't recorded the dialogue for them just yet and that's subject to change. Considering they're a part of a civilization that exists several millenia from now I may have to get creative. Uh, more creative.

I like the idea of the "utility belt" running joke, heheh. I'll have to find a way to work that into the script.
